Winter Fever-Easter Itch 2006-2007

It was the winter of 2006 that the madness (cabin fever) set in. December 20th 2006 began the longest, snowiest winter of my life. The Denver airport shut down stranding thousands.... and it continued to snow and snow and snow every week for two solid months. It finally stopped when we hit March. That year we had to dig paths through 5 feet of frozen snow- iced over. The horses were at times stranded in the snow. They had to be led out and back to their home.

I snapped. My reaction that winter was to fast forward to Spring .... specifically Easter.
I started with one purchase... a 4 inch Rosbro bunny, yellow with pink ears, hard plastic... a 1950s treasure for toy aficionados.

This past Thursday I drove an hour and a half north to get this ..... for the collection. Another several hours went into oiling the wood and cleaning the glass.....

These little guys and gals were getting a new home. My madness is now complete.

Actually, their little brethren went into the newly expanded home for Easter collectibles.

Mr. Knickerbocker Rabbit (with pipe) and the Easter Rocket Bunny guard the cabinet.
And it all started with one little yellow plastic Rosbro bunny with little pink ears.....

Happy Easter!! Vernal Equinox!! Printemps!!
